The current circus trend in fashion, clothing and entertainment spans from Britney Spears' successful Circus album and tour to the harlequin inspired Miu Miu collection from Miuccia Prada. Now available for merchandising use are the hundreds of artifacts and images in the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey archive, including vintage posters, costume designs and other visuals. The style guide program comprises five different looks: Classic/General, Infant, Youth, Illustrations and Vintage/Vintage Posters.
Significant milestones over the past 40 years include the addition of the first living unicorn; the first quadruple somersault in performance, a presentation of acrobats from China. the first female Clown College graduate, an exhibition of Asian circus skills from Mongolia, and King Tusk - an elephant that rivals the legendary Jumbo in size. Under the ownership of Feld Entertainment, German animal trainer Gunther Gebel-Williams joined the show, quickly gaining worldwide recognition for his talents in working with animals. In 1968, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College was founded to preserve the art of clowning.
