Universal Pictures and Hasbro have formed a six-year strategic partnership to produce motion pictures based on some of the world's best-known and beloved toys and game brands. Produced and directed by Peter Berg and set for worldwide release in May 2012, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper’s fiancée; Alexander Skarsgård as Hopper’s older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper’s crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone’s superior (and Sam’s father), Admiral Shane.

The film will feature spectacular visual effects from Industrial Light & Magic and be supported by a multi-million dollar marketing campaign establishing the release of the film as a blockbuster motion picture event.

The combat references of the classic Battleship strategy game are deeply embedded in today's popular culture - influencing art, design and style. The game has gone viral, virtual and very hip, and gamers are now getting ready for the next level of Battleship.

Plus Licens represents Hasbro for merchandising, promotional and publishing rights to Battleship in the Nordic countries, Russia and Central and Eastern Europe.
