FOCUSING ON THE RELATIONSHIP between brother and sister, the Charlie and Lola series tells the story of how they handle the little issues that they, as young children, encounter every day. Adapted from the award winning children's books written and illustrated by Lauren Child and produced by Tiger Aspect (Mr Bean, Billy Elliot), the series uses a very different style with mix of illustration, photography and montage design.

Charlie and Lola is loved by children and adults alike. Children can identify with the characters, relating to their whimsical ideas and magical adventures. Adults love the accurate observations, wholesome message, bright funky design and humor, and find they inspire ways to interact with their kids, encouraging imaginative play and problem-solving.

Charlie is seven. He is loving, patient and very bright. He has this little sister, Lola. She is four going on five, small and very funny. Sometimes he has to keep an eye on her. Sometimes Mum and Dad ask him to help with Lola. This is a hard job - because Lola feels extremely strongly about... well, quite a few things actually. She likes pink milk, swimming with whales, and Soren Lorenson, her best friend who is imaginary. She doesn't like mushrooms, numbers bigger than 10 or itchy jumpers. And she will not ever, NEVER eat a tomato.

Together, Charlie and Lola deal with issues that they as young children, encounter everyday. These little issues spiral into a succession of imaginative games, role play, flights of fancy, normally invented by Charlie to coax his spirited little sister Lola round to seeing things in a more reasoned way.

Plus Licens represents BBC Worldwide for merchandising and promotional rights to Charlie and Lola in the Nordic countries.
