PLANNED FOR RELEASE ON April 1, 2011, and mainly targeting tween girls, teens and young adults, the musical drama Footloose is a remake of the 1984 film of the same name starring Kevin Bacon.

The film tells the story of young Ren McCormack who moves to old fashioned and uptight Beaumont, Tennessee, and rebels against its law that bans dancing and rock music. The movie stars Kenny Wormald (dancer/actor in MTV Series Dancelife) as Ren, Julianne Hough as Ariel Moore and Dennis Quaid as reverend Shaw Moore, and will feature choreography from Jamal Sims who recently worked with Madonna on her Sticky & Sweet Tour.

"I can promise Footloose fans that I will be true to the spirit of the original film", says writer and director Craig Brewer. "But I still gotta put my own Southern grit into it and kick it into 2011. It's going to be a blast!"

Plus Licens represents Paramount for merchandising, promotional and publishing rights to Footloose in Russia and Central and Eastern Europe.
