Directed by Stephen Sommers and produced by Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, the $150 million G.I. Joe movie is set for worldwide release in August 2009.

The merchandising program for the movie comprises a full roll-out in all categories, including publishing, apparel and accessories, home decor, hard goods and digital. Licensees include Simon & Schuster for publishing, IDW for comic books, Electronic Arts for video games and American Greetings for social expressions.

The classic G.I. Joe entertainment brand will be releasing Q3 2008, followed by new animated content in Q1 2009. The animation will be produced in a sophsticated style to appeal to males 12-34, with 60 minutes of content divided into 5-minute episodes or "battles".

The G.I. Joe movie is based on the classic toy franchise which was first launched in 1964 and has drawn approx. $3.7 billions in retail sales over the years.

Plus Licens represents Hasbro for merchandising rights (excluding promotions, apparel/accessories, footwear, bedding and beverages) to G.I. Joe in Eastern Europe.
