THESE DUCKS ARE right on target. Not only are Michael Bedard's ducks famous through posters and books, they also appear in a two-season CGI animated television series. In the whimsical world of Sitting Ducks, life is good, food’s a plenty, and alligators are lurking in neighboring Swampwood. But opposites attract in this alligator-eat-duck world when Bill the duck and Aldo the alligator form an unlikely friendship of comic proportions.
In the early eighties, artist Michael Bedard created a series of inspired and witty paintings featuring ducks living in human circumstances as a comment on modern society. His most well known print, Sitting Ducks, ranks as one of the most widely recognized and largest selling prints in the world, earning over $70 million worldwide.

The Sitting Ducks concept was developed into an animated TV series of 52 x 11 minutes, sold into several territories including Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Russia. The main target group for the series is children 5-8, but just like Bedard's artwork, it also appeals to an wider audience.
The sensitive balance between everyday comfort and lurking disaster, apparent already in the first Sitting Ducks poster, is duly upheld in the storylines of the television series. Dialogue-driven humor and complex situations ensure that this is a series that families and adults can enjoy as well.
The merchandising program for the Sitting Ducks TV series uses design elements from the new series and is predominantly aimed at children aged 5-8 years.
Plus Licens represents Universal for merchandising, promotional and publishing rights to Sitting Ducks in the Nordic countries and Eastern Europe.
