FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS, Star Wars has entertained and inspired. A defining event for millions, Star Wars is still embraced by new generations. The first day gross of USD 50 million represented the biggest single day opening ever, and the international gross of USD 145 million broke international opening weekend records as well.
A worldwide gross of more than $4.8 billion in cumulative box office makes the Star Wars saga the most successful film and video series of all time. But George Lucas' epic universe is also an integral part of modern myth, unique in its ability to cross both gender and generational lines. It is the consummate modern mythology - and a story for all time.
