ABC is Australia's largest broadcaster, entertainment and marketing organisation. The ABC has been selling program related products since 1974 and has been operating ABC Shops since 1981. ABC Enterprises creates, licenses, markets and retails quality consumer products which reflect and extend the scope of ABC programs and services. ABC Enterprises activities fall into three main areas:
- the production of books, audio tapes, contemporary and classical music CDs and cassettes, video tapes, magazines, toys, and clothing
- the selling of this product through ABC Shops, ABC Centres, traditional retail outlets and direct marketing activities
- the licensing in Australia and overseas of ancillary ABC program related products such as toys and clothing bearing the ABC logo.
ABC Licensing is the business unit of ABC Enterprises responsible for the Bananas in Pyjamas licensing program in Australia and internationally. Corporate logos are licensed to third parties for the creation of products such as clothing, toys, games, dinnerware, nursery goods, manchester and stationery. All products are subject to a rigorous product approval process.
