During its first weekend, the sequel Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen set the fourth highest all-time international weekend gross with $162 million. The film was #1 in all territories and the international box office now stands at more than $186 millions. According to Variety, the film is on its way to become the highest-grossing film of the year at the worldwide box office!

In Russia, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen took in $11.8 million from 564 locations, 69% higher than the first Transformers film. The film took in $1.1 million in Poland and nearly â?¬260.000 in the Czech Republic.

Every showing of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen also features a trailer for the upcoming G.I. Joe movie, opening August-September 2009 in Eastern Europe.

The first Transformers film grossed $389 million outside the US. A third film is preliminary planned for a July 2011 release.
