The South Park episode "Imaginationland" has won the 2008 Emmy Award for "Outstanding Animated Program (One Hour or More)" at the Creative Arts Awards ceremony taking place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 13. First aired in October 2007, "Imaginationland" is a three-part story arc telling the story of an unsuspected terrorist attack on the cartoon, fairytale and other imaginary characters in Imaginationland. The three episodes have also been released as a direct-to-DVD movie in March 2008, South Park Imaginationland: The Movie.

When first aired in the US, "Imaginationland" was a success with critics as well as with televison viewers, drawing more than 3.4 million viewers as the day's most watched program in all of television among Men 18-24 and 34-49 and ranking #1 in cable among Persons 18-49.
