Accomplished author and artist Bron Smith writes and illustrates Health Capsules, a unique Q&A panel that combines useful information with cartoon illustrations to answer readers' questions about general health topics. Health Capsules is available six times each week.
Created in 1961 by Dr. Michael Petti, M.D., and illustrator Jud Hurd, Health Capsules was begun as an effort to educate people about common health myths. The feature covers everything from long-established medical facts to the most recent discoveries in medical research. Smith, who has created Health Capsules since 2002, has been writing personal dietary and health recommendations for about ten years. He wrote, illustrated and self-syndicated the cartoon nutrition panel "To Your Health" and created the popular illustrated booklet "Nutrition 101: How and Why You Should Rebuild Your Diet."
A published author, illustrator and children's entertainer for over 25 years, Smith has written and illustrated dozens of books. His satirical humor book Where's Dan Quayle? was a national best seller. As a regular contributor to Clubhouse Jr. magazine, he has been writing and illustrating "Huckleberry Hollow" stories for 12 years, and his illustrations have appeared in numerous magazines. Smith played the role of Stormy the Sailor on the "Captain Andy Show" from 1975 to 1980. He then moved to Tacoma, Washington, and began producing and hosting "The Captain SeaTac Show." He has also produced and hosted three children's videos: "Kids on Safari", "Crayon Jungle" and "Doodle Lagoon". Smith, his wife and their two sons live in Puyallup, Washington.
Plus Licens represents United Feature Syndicate and Newspaper Enterprise Association for syndication rights to Health Capsules in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia.
