Dick Rogers creates Kidspot, a fun and educational puzzle feature for children, distributed six times each week by United Feature Syndicate. Designed to challenge young readers, Kidspot provides a daily puzzle in a variety of formats, including crosswords, connect-the-dots, rebuses and compare-the-pictures. Each puzzle can be solved in just minutes and many parents have found that daily participation encourages children to form regular newspaper reading habits.
Kidspot answers are given the same day, so children can immediately see how they did. "I've always felt the comic pages should entertain kids," says Rogers. "Johnny Wonder", a children's feature Rogers created in 1969, enjoyed successful syndication with United Feature Syndicate for 25 years. It was widely used in classrooms by teachers as an educational aide. Both "Johnny Wonder" and Kidspot have been published in eight books. Rogers lives and works in Santa Cruz, Calif. When not inventing puzzles, he enjoys reading, golf and babysitting his grandchildren.
Plus Licens represents United Feature Syndicate and Newspaper Enterprise Association for syndication rights to Kidspot in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia.
