Rose is Rose daily strip sample

In a melting pot of fantasy and reality, Rose is Rose presents the extraordinary nature of everyday life as seen through the eyes of the Gumbo family. Writes one reader, "You've struck a superb balance. Cosmic humor without preaching is rare enough to be a treasure in any time". Rose is Rose and Brady have received many accolades, including the highest honor in the industry - the National Cartoonists Society's Reuben Award for Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year (2004). Brady has also received the prestigious Wilbur Award from the Religious Public Relations Council.

The strip stars child-at-heart Rose and her ASD (Attentiveness Surplus Disorder) husband Jimbo. Their gentle son Pasquale is watched over by his Guardian Angel who morphs from tiny cherub into gargantuan protector. Family kitten Peekaboo boasts that her humans are the cutest in town. Readers relish the romance in Rose and Jimbo's marriage, yet cheer the emergence of Rose's rebel alter ego, the fearless, wild and ready-to-roll Vicki the Biker.

Rose is Rose appears in more than 600 newspapers, such as the New York Daily News, Dallas Morning News, Atlanta Journal & Constitution, Denver Rocky Mountain News, Boston Globe, Detroit News and Seattle Times. There are 13 Rose is Rose books, including the compilation book Red Carpet Rose (Andrews McMeel, 2006), The Irresistible Rose is Rose (Andrews McMeel, 2000) and Rose Is Rose in Loving Color (Rutledge Hill Press, 1999), a collection of vivid and beautiful full-color Sunday strips.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Brady studied art and creative writing at the University of Wisconsin, and resides in the Midwest. Don Wimmer began contributing to the strip in 2004, following a 14-year stint as the artist for "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" He holds a degree in Visual Communications from Kean University, and lives with his wife and three daughters in the foothills of New Jersey.
